I am SUCH an Internet Girl. And because of that, I stumble across the coolest things each week online. I collect them and share them here.
1. I watched the first part of the Thrive Mom’s Online Retreat and it was well worth it. Jessi talks about God as our Hiding Place and it’s been with me ever since. 2. What every veteran wants you to know about Memorial Day: it’s not another holiday to celebrate America or those in the military. It’s a somber day to remember those we have lost. It’s sacred ground – not a “Happy Memorial Day” for many. 3. We’ve made some incredible changes to our Better Life Bags! We are switching (on Sunday) to a super sturdy canvas material for the inside lining which will give the bags great structure even with nothing inside. We also will be putting a plastic bottom piece inside each bag for added support to whatever you put inside. 4. I launched this new website: RebeccaSmithOnline.com and that cutie helped me announce it! Gosh, he is growing up.
Glennon from Momastary had this amazing post this week about God flirting with us. How the sunsets and the beaches and the sweet air is God relentlessly pursuing you. It’s GOOD. Massively changed the way I think.
I recently found out about this company, Bottle of Tears, that buys old vintage bottles that are so aesthetically pleasing and sends them on your behalf to grieving loved ones with Psalm 56:8 inside that reads, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” This is my new sympathy card.
A firefighter in Hamtramck entered an essay contest (with THOUSANDS of entries) and won our little city a $50,000 4th of July celebration! We are all ecstatic and for the first time in awhile, I’m actually going to tolerate the incessant lighting of fireworks around that day. Click here to read the essay and discover a little more about life in Hamtramck.
And finally, these dance kids are incredible. I was on dance team in high school and college, and we all WISHED we looked this good. What a workout.
What are some of your favorite moments from around the Internet this week?
