I’m here really quick tonight. I have a lot to write, but no where near the energy to get it all out. Looking forward to getting back into a routine of writing. I miss those Saturday mornings. Those were good. Real good.
I have a big post on the edge of my fingers, but it’s going to take a lot of gut to write it. A lot of vulnerability. A lot of this-is-the-real-ugly-right-here. So you can understand why I’m not feeling up to writing it when I’m already tired.
I’m pretty sure that I’m also desperate for a full night’s sleep. I don’t think I’ve had one in 3 years. Yes, my kids are horrible sleepers and our entire family bed and couch hops all night. Recently, I found out that a legit form of torture is to be woken up every few hours. Well, ladies (and any gentlemen out there) – I have been tortured for 3 long years.
And as further proof of my exhaustion, I just texted my hubby to see if he could take the kids in the morning so I could have a hot bath by myself. (I would take one now, but I’m pretty sure I’d fall asleep in the steaming water. And not to mention the jolt of frigid air I’d feel when I’d force myself to get out. Oh winter – are you over yet?) He responded, “Sure thing babe. We’ll go out to breakfast so you can get some alone time.” And I cried. Yep. Teared up at his response.
You see, I’m an introvert. I LOVE me some people time, but I recharge my batteries by being alone. And alone is not something I have had in weeks. My house has people coming and going from 8AM – midnight most days because of our bustling business. And while most days are so super fun to work with friends and fun women, it can really wear on my introverted self.
And late nights can really step on the air hose of my I-need-sleep-more-than-food nature. It’s not been a good combination lately. I’m working on it. Promise.
Because you know what? We are actually AHEAD of orders! We’ve hired enough people to not only keep up with the current demand, but to also get ahead. Which means new products, new lines, AND ship dates much earlier than promised! Whoo hooo!
